MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

COLLEGE OF PAEDIATRICS

2016 marks the 21st year of the establishment of the College of Paediatrics. Since its birth in 1995, it has steadily grown in size and stature but staying true to its original charter – amongst the aims is to promote scientific research in Paediatrics and to promote & maintain the highest moral, ethical and professional standards in the practice of Paediatrics. The College of Paediatrics is a professional non-governmental organisation representing the paediatric specialist fraternity in Malaysia and is one of the eleven professional colleges under the auspices of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. Besides maintaining professional standards and training of the paediatric specialty and its related sub-specialties programs, the College of Paediatrics also has to represent, express and give effect to the views and opinions of its members. In order to improve the communication process with all our members, as well as to keep with the anticipated needs of keeping up with continuing medical education and professional development, the College has embarked on an ambitious plan to establish its own website, complete with a host of interactive functions. We hope this will be an incentive for our members to stay in touch with the latest developments and to continue to contribute to the advancements of the health and well-being of our neonates, children and adolescents in Malaysia. With best wishes Professor Dr Thong Meow Keong President, College of Paediatrics, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia
